Local schools
The 'Comann Eachdraidh na h-Oige Uibhist a Tuath', (Junior Historical Society) operates in the island’s primary school, Sgoil Uibhist a Tuath, and the local High School for the Island, Sgoil Lionacleit. Our submission to the Museums Change Lives Awards 2018 - ‘A’ Cruinneachadh Airson 2048 / Collecting for Exhibition 2048’ won the Best Small Museum Project MCL Award 2018 and the Community, Heritage and Tourism Award 2018 at the Gaelic Awards.
Caraidean Uibhist
This local befriending group (with assistance from Tagsa Uibhist transport) has been central to providing funding for the popular ‘reminiscence’ ceilidh lunches for the more isolated, disabled yet ‘experience-rich’ members of the community.
The partnership with Tagsa Uibhist enables many isolated people to attend events e.g. open days, reminiscence ceilidhs.
Outer Hebrides Heritage Forum
We are one of the founding members of this organisation which provides heritage groups across the Outer Hebrides with a means of working collaboratively, sharing experiences, and providing a united voice for island community heritage.

Comann na Mara
Comann na Mara is an Eco-Friendly Aquatic Education and Marine Research facility at Loch nam Madadh (Lochmaddy) who collaborated with us on the Cladach agus Machair project. Following one of our local history sessions, "Clann Nighean na Sgadain", we are pleased to continue work with Comann na Mara on collecting information about the Herring Girls of North Uist.
Taigh Sgìre Sholais
We have been pleased to work with the Taigh Sgire in exhibiting from our archive photographs relating to the Sollas district.
Uist Archaeology
A partnership of local archaeologists based in Uist, established in 2009, and run by Kate MacDonald and Rebecca Rennell who have worked independently as archaeological consultants in the Western Isles since 2006. http://www.uistarchaeology.com/

Grimsay Community Association (GCA)

Scottish Natural Heritage
The local SNH office supported us during a film-making project with the local Sgoil Uibhist a Tuath, “Cearcall a Chuain’. This film, together with the children’s research, photography and artwork, was shown at an EU/ UNESCO conference in Brussels in March 2018 and was described as ‘the best possible example of the role of local communities in terms of having the public engaged in ocean literacy and the management and protection of their coastal zone and maritime environment.’
Universities
We have close links with St Andrews ‘Smart History’ Immersive Technology Department under Dr Alan Miller and, attracted HLF and HIE Gaelic Innovation Funding for four previous major exhibition collaborations with the University between 2014-17; St Kilda, WW1, Archaeology and Cearcall a Chuain.
We also enjoy close ties with Edinburgh University School of Celtic and Scottish Studies including active support from Dr Gary West for our Oral History and musical ventures. The Human Geography Summer School, under Dr Fraser Macdonald, works alongside us every year for a Summer School.
