Grant funding
|
We are extremely pleased and grateful to hear that Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes announced that our Sgoil Chàirinis redevelopment project has been awarded £599,000 Regeneration Capital Grant funding as one of 32 projects, which will create jobs and regenerate communities across Scotland and will benefit from funding set out in the 2026-27 Scottish Budget. This represents a highly significant boost to realising completion of our project to create a sustainable, vibrant Community Heritage Centre. A big thank you to Ms Forbes and her officials. Also, to the Comhairle Members and officials who supported and enabled an application on our behalf. |
Tha sinn air leth toilichte agus taingeil cluinntinn gun do dh’ainmich an Leas-Phrìomh Mhinistear Kate Forbes gun deach maoineachadh Tabhartas Calpa Ath-nuadhachaidh de £599,000 a thoirt don phròiseact ath-leasachaidh againn airson Sgoil Chàirinis mar aon de 32 pròiseact, a chruthaicheas obraichean agus a ath-bheothaicheas coimhearsnachdan air feadh na h-Alba agus a gheibh buannachd bho mhaoineachadh a tha air a shuidheachadh a-mach ann am Buidseat na h-Alba 2026-27. Tha seo a’ riochdachadh àrdachadh mòr ann a bhith a’ crìochnachadh ar pròiseict gus Ionad Dualchas Coimhearsnachd seasmhach, beòthail a chruthachadh. Taing mhòr do Mhgr Forbes agus a h-oifigearan. Cuideachd, do Bhuill na Comhairle agus na h-oifigearan a thug taic agus a leig le tagradh às ar leth. |
We are also extremely grateful to NHS Western Isles for a grant of £33,780 towards our Community Heritage Centre project. The grant will enable us to install a defibrillator unit in a former telephone box near the main road; a shed and workshop to provide storage for grounds maintenance and gardening; and pedestrian access to the centre. All of these will support our desire to improve health and wellbeing by providing a highly visible and readily accessible emergency assistance facility; a place for people to gather to work on making and repairing articles and to support community gardening; and to improve accessibility to community events in the centre.
Late last year we secured £1.5 million from the UK Government’s Community Regeneration Partnership Fund, to support the restoration and redevelopment of Sgoil Chàirinis to form a Community Heritage Centre. For more details, here is the news release.
